NLP is a science that explores the relationships
between how we think (neuro), how we communicate (linguistic)
and our patterns of behaviour and emotion (programmes).
By studying and learning from these relationships
people can effectively transform the way they traditionally
think and act, adopting new, far more successful models of
human excellence.
NLP has studied and analyzed the way successful
people think, speak and act to be able to use models
of excellence in business and everyday life.
NLP can be very powerful when used to
work on any form of addiction if used in conjunction with
others of coaching or therapy methodologies.
During my Eating Disorder Recovery
Coaching Programme I would pick and choose from many
NLP techniques available from my vast Tool Kit for example:
- " TOTE model to help the
client visualize achieving his/her goal and to see whether
that would feel right and congruent for her
- or Pattern Breaker, finding a powerful
statement to say just before the Trigger Situation like
say being in front of a chocolate cake
- Modelling, finding a Role Model that
can inspire the client t, for example, eat better
- Anchoring, asking the client to anchor
herself to a past happy and successful moment in recovery,
to re-evoke a more resourceful state needed for a specific
challenge, say even in order to go out and comfortable in
ones body
and many more.
